Escapism....

WAGGA GARDENEX

So the other day while looking for a
venue for an upcoming event, we decided
to go to a place by the name of Wagga
Gardens in the heart of Broadhurst, Gaborone.
It was my first time there and I would
love to say I was thoroughly impressed.
The venue has this beautiful rustic feel
perfect for weddings where the theme
is vintage.

All around beautiful place.

I would score it 4 out of 5 stars.

Absolutely worth checking out.

Expect more reviews of places in

Maun Travels

Wow I didn't even realize I haven't posted anything on the
blog in such a long time. Being overwhelmed with a
thousand and one tasks more so that I have so many tasks
on my plate.

Enough excuses

So a month ago or so I got the opportunity to go to Maun.
Maun is beautiful to say the least, I was in absolute awe.
So I stayed at Maun Lodge, which has a beautiful view of
Thamalakane River. More pictures less talking is my motto.

BON ARIVEE RESTAURANT

While out, we went into this interesting restaurant by
the name Bon Arivee situated directly opposite the
Maun International Airport. The decor inside was
very interesting unique to say the least.

Saw this cool framed album by one of the best musicians to come out of Botswana, Thato "Scar"Matlhabaphiri. #SupportLocal

Here comes the bride........

So my honey Motlatsi had her beautiful bridal shower a couple of weeks ago.
She chose a Victorian theme. It was my very first time going to a Victorian themed
event. Had to google it hey. Sadly I saw long dresses with gloves and fascinators.
So I had to use why I had to fit in.

The set up was wonderfully made. I wish I knew who set it up so I can give them
the props they deserve. Enough words, more pictures rigggggggght!

Khumo's 25th Soiree

So last week was the oh so fabulous Khumo Kgwaadiras 25^th birthday party

on the 30^th of June. The auspicious occasion was held at Flava Restaurant in

Molapo Crossing.

FLAVA DECOR

Flava decor is fitting for the kind of food they serve. They serve food
that is mostly on the African Cuisine side and the decor is absolutely
fitting even the jazz music that they were playing went very well with
the vibe, BEAUTIFUL!

It was a first for me to see a restaurant like this locally. It doesn’t really
conform to regular standards, it just stands out with its African and
earthy feel.

Downside though was the service but this couldve been because there
were a lot of people on our table. And one last downside was the fact
that they don’t have Wi-Fi, but because they are fairly new, I trust that
this will improve.

LADY OF THE NIGHT

Back to the party right. It was an All Black party of which the lady of the
moment came dressed to the heavens in White. It wasn’t really surprising
though, her collaboration with Aobakwe Molosiwa of Gilded Sands is
incredible. The clothing Aobakwe makes highly compliments Khumos
body frame, it’s like a Gertz-Bonang collaboration but better.

She looked divine.

INTERACTION

Then the mingling, sometimes when you know 2 people that are going to
be at an event you become sceptical that you wont have anyone else to
communicate with while the people you know are occupied. Well this
was not the case. I met some really lovely young ladies.

One of the young ladies I met and instantly clicked with was Reagile of
ReaOnline. This young lady is one ambitious young lady who chose her
career path when she was way younger than most people, myself included.

I also met Sparkle, she is such a pretty being. The worst thing is that we
have met before but I couldn’t recall which was understandable because
she was on the field at the Equality Cup playing for the team I also
represented Charmer Boi. I don’t play ball though, I’ll play ball after I insure
these legs, child please!

Last and certainly not least I got to interact with Sadi from Flavour Dome and

Dj Chabo who were a barrel of laughs.
The conversations we had were also interesting.

All around fun time!

And to Khumo: Honey, keep on slaying! We all know what you
have established right now is just you starting up you have way
more to bring! Demolish any and everything in your path til you
attain them goals!

Johannesburg Excursion

So a couple of weeks back I stayed in JOhannesburg to further
my studies and during my stay I went to a couple of interesting places
here goes

ANTI EST.

So when I arrived my girl decided to treat me out
so we painted the town RED at this here place.
The house music they play was really good until
it struck the hour 12 where they played bubble gum
which draws in the crowd. Oh and the cocktails have
an extra kick. It is rather chilled until a certain time and
it has the same people, went there three times to find the
same people.Unfortunately phones got stolen on the night so pics of
the place are lost but here is an image i got from google.

PATA PATA (MABONENG PRECINCT)

Went to Pata Pata for some girl talk with a friend of mine.
The service wasnt that bad. The vibe was lovely for a Sunday
catch up and perfect enough we went there on a beautiful Sunday
afternoon and it was drizzling, beautiful.The downside was that there
was no WiFi :( gawsh! ok yes it does encourage for people to sit
and converse with each other, but sue me if am wrong, most of the
conversations we come up with are based on most things that we see on the net
plus i want to tag the venue. Social media marketing. Another downside
was that the service took a bit of a long time but to this the brought
me the best Malva pudding and custard i have ever tasted EVER!
It was absolutely divine! Fresh warm and just yumm! Yes I enjoyed
it that much and it was worth the wait. Didnt take pictures here aswell
was caught up talking :(

PRIMI PIATTI (ROSEBANK)

By far worst service I have ever received was from this here place.
All the other times i've been to this Primi the service was ok, but the
last time i was there the service was so horrible, had to even complain to
the manager. You know that if a darkie calls over the manager then them buttons
have been pushed. After the complaint they did improve not about to go back though.
I didnt even enjoy the food because I was in such a bad mood.

NEXDOR(VILAKAZI STREET)

Ah yes, the time i went to this venue all the other places were so full.
Went to Nexdor the food wasn't that bad and the service was substandard.
On a plus, saw Hugh Masekela, which was awesome. For the life of me I
couldn't pull myslef to ask for a picture because i could tell that he was bonding with
his friends so I decided to respect that.

ELEVATE ROOFTOP

Came here with my girl for an All White party.It is a beautiful location.
The view is amazing as well. Beautiful music. A plus is that since its in the
rooftop there was proper protection from harsh weathers like rain and cold.
Awesome place no complaints.

WALTER SISULU BOTANICAL GARDENS

Had a lovely picnic with someone dear here. It was beautiful. very spacious
well kept, clean. It was serene and rather scenic as they have an artificial
waterfall. Awesome place for the entire fam.

SIX (MELVILLE)

So Six's is a this here liquor restaturant in the heart of Melville. Ended up here
after a very exhausting wedding dress hunt (not for me but for my friend). The food
was well done, the vibe was great and might i add that we were served by a mighty
fine waiter.haha! Anyway Six's has a 7 HOUR happy hour. My insides were screaming with
excitement, I wondered where this place had been all my life liiiiiike! Two drinks
for the price of one.

STONES (MELVILLE)

So we went to Stones after we celebrated Sheillah Molelekwas 22nd birthday at
Adorabelle Hair Salon. It was small and intimate. Then we hit Stones, Stones being Stones
played the most commercial music but it was refreshing still, it was hard not to enjoy myself.

ROSEBANK CRAFT MARKET

Saw this place whule lost looking for some store.
There are really some good pieces of art, beautiful crafts
at reasonable prices. Go out there and check it out
for yourself.
